Programme Highlights

INCOSE 99 aims to deliver relevant material to systems engineering practitioners fromall areas of the discipline - we aim to make it worth your while to attend by covering:-

Established Issues in the mainstream ofINCOSE activities.

Diverse Domain Practices , the lessonsfrom which have featured in the UK Chapter's activities since its formation.

Relations with Other Disciplines and thechallenge of developing synergies. Come and find out what is happening in this area; forexample, in the vital relationship between project/programme management and systemsengineering.

Generic Systems Approach - SystemsEngineering principles - thinking holistically - having a regard for the parts and theirinteractive contribution to the whole.

Education, Research and Training ,probably, the greatest leverage for adding value. An academic workshop and one technicaltrack will address this area of special interest.

Transport and other Emerging Sectors -the UK and Europe, have seen a rapid growth of Systems Engineering applications in railtransport and transport infrastructure design. To broaden the base of interest in INCOSEmembership and activities, one technical track is planned for papers on SystemsEngineering practices in non-traditional sectors.

Systems and Software Engineering , thesynergy and overlap of these two established disciplines should attract considerableinterest in the form of submitted papers and interested delegates.

In addition to the usual INCOSE Plenary Sessions, Plenary Briefings will form part ofthe programme to allow the status of current major topics of interest to be shared, e.g.ISO standardisation.

INCOSE Business Plenary, Technical Committees and Working Groups will be held as usual, together with Tutorials and Workshops and an Academic Workshop.
